I'm just confused cause you said Neil is always a downer but Uncharted 4 was pretty upbeat and reminiscent of the early entries in the series. He understands fun action games and it's too early to completely write this off as another TLOU dejected storyline, idk

Kind of funny seeing people complaining about the branding whereabouts someone like Kojima plugs that s*** in SHAMELESSLY.

Like dropping credits on the side detailing what brand and even the official name of said product is at every given opportunity.

Gonna assume this is either open world, or at least semi-interconnected open world (a la something like Bloodborne).

“If it wasnt Naughty Dog” is irrelevant because it is Naughty Dog.
The reason theyre able to drop a cinematic trailer with no gameplay is because they have an incredible track record of dropping groundbreaking games.
So they have player trusts from anybody that isnt a anti-woke right winger claiming the game is gay or trans even though we dont know that.

Telling us theyre doing a new IP(their 1st new IP IN 11+ years), showing us that IP’s concept and vibe, and hints of what the game will be like is enough.

Not saying youre not allowed to be feel underwhelmed. But the reason they can get away with kind of trailer is because they have a trackrecord of not missing, so ppl trust they’ll pull of this sci-fi/space concept well

always thought a Jak 4 would be more like Jak 1 since he still needs to go back and create haven city

Jak 2 is regarded a classic but sure you might get bored

Jak 3 is like twice as fun as R&C and instead of going to 20 random worlds (like a cliche ice themed worlds or volcano worlds that you forget), you have 2 main cities that keep opening new areas that you get to know deep

Better story too. Only reason R&C is a bigger franchise is bc of a cartoonish fox and robot character they focused on making 100 games for kids compared to a more R rated world Jak 3 progressed to. I remember thinking I wasn’t even adultish enough to get it bc of the blood warnings and the cover.

Finished every entry in the series except the portable Daxter game. Jak 2 has a lot of decent ideas but it plays like butt and the police system might be the worst one in any game I've ever played. I definitely enjoyed Jak 3 but I wouldn't say it holds a candle to Deadlocked, Up Your Arsenal or honestly even the first Rachet & Clank game IMO

Jack 4 concept was dead for The Last of us Back in 2010 btw
