Deelights_Go watch the game we lost to Denver, that’s how we almost made a comeback, we play zone when we have to. We saw tour team struggle with zone so why will we switch up to what your guys are comfortable with?
this is such a terrible myth tho lol. a few games into the series and we were shredding the zone, scoring well over 1 point per possession when they used it. they largely used zone because they had no hope of guarding us man to man, and for a couple games it worked, helped by unforced turnovers. but even then, we had double digit leads in the first 2 games, so any sort of idea that miami playing zone was the biggest factor to them winning is just flat out wrong.

OPOct 4, 2020Synopsisthats the nuggets tho. zone is effective from almost any team when its deployed sparingly and even then youre dealing with an incredibly small sample size in that game. but for reference, the lakers played 129 zone possessions in the regular season defensively, gave up 1.062 points per possession, not good. miami played 802 possessions, gave up 770 points per. very good.
in the playoffs, its legit been 33 possessions of zone for LA.

we ironically had the best zone defense in the league in the regular season but only used it on 160 possessions. we shoulda done it.
