Sterling Brown story is crazy
Thabo Sefolosha too
police injured him, cuasing him to miss the rest of that season
I feel like if you have to play to feed your family because you're a depth player, a young player, or you live paycheck to paycheck, that's one thing.
But if you're in a good financial position and you can afford to protest you should absolutely do it, especially if you're one of the prominent faces/voices in the league
Honestly this is where the superstars gotta show up. I remember reading Kobe was willing to give loans out to other players during the 2011 lockout. Image if stars in other sports did the same as a double show of solidarity.
See I hear that standpoint too, I understand that. But to me it makes it even worse because like my guy why you pocket watching? I'm sure their money is straight. Even then when it's over something that can happen to any/every black person, you start looking it like "You know...maybe the money isn't that important, taking a stand for what's right so we won't have to keep on dealing with all this in the future is bigger than the money."
It's the reason why I still look at MJ as sort of a cornball for never speaking up for what's right and focusing mainly on keeping/maintaining his money. Lives are worth more than money you feel me?
Yep and I absolutely agree with your point, I just think SAS views wealth as a major issue for black athletes so he wants it protected at all costs and that's where he's coming from
I'm on your side though
Nigga the NBA wont be paying anybody who boycotts lol guaranteed or not
They pay injured players. I'm not sure they have a choice.
That's not true
Wouldn't be mad if they boycotted but wouldn't be mad if they came back to play either
They just set the precedent that this is no longer tolerable under any circumstance. So until there's real change if they were really bout it they shouldn't play.
Y'all coming in here asking the wrong f***ing questions man
nfl will just cut every player that strikes and play the games with full replacement squads you just watch
You think thatβs gonna happen?
nah lol but it would be interesting

Mahomes can lead something massive here for sure

But for how long though
Ain't watching no f***ing replacement players

Yeah I'd love to see the Chiefs cut Mahomes or the Seahawks cut Russell Wilson
That would go over real well
You know how large the gap is between Patrick Mahomes II and a replacement player?
Please lol
Now is not the time for that discussion
1. Mostly highlighting why would anyone be surprised the NCAA would be on some f*** s*** when thats a part of their reality.
2. Not paying young black men to maximize profits is DEFINITELY a part of the discussion of racial inequality that is this boycotts focus!
nfl will just cut every player that strikes and play the games with full replacement squads you just watch
yeah f***ing right lol
Ain't watching no f***ing replacement players
Already did for the raps series
Dudes who don't watch shouldn't be spouting off in here

They 100% have that power lol being injured is one thing but deciding to sit out is another
They can decide not to pay them and fine the roster 5M$ lol
Ain't watching no f***ing replacement players
Basically would be the XFL and we know how that turned out even before the pandemic
You know how large the gap is between Patrick Mahomes II and a replacement player?
Please lol
