ND was a 28 point favorite at home to a MAC team and lost. You can do that with anyone. Look at the wins Alabama has versus the non existent wins SMU.

Engage with the South Carolina argument. It doesn’t matter where the committee had them ranked. The game on the field was played and the reality is different. A 2 loss SMU should be in a resume struggle against South Carolina. South Carolina has a win over the team SMU just played bad against. SMU’s best win is Duke. They’re 1-2 against teams above 9-3. They have the second worst p4 SOS

It does matter where the committee had them ranked. Warde told us on Tuesday in no uncertain terms that Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Miami have no chance so therefore I have no interest in further a***yzing their resumes.

The bottom line is that the hypothetical matchup argument is flawed and stupid and if SMU does not get in, no team should ever play their conference championship game again

I’m not arguing for South Carolina to get in. I’m saying they actually have a stronger argument to get in than SMU. BYU has a better argument than SMU. They play to win a bye. If your schedule isn’t good enough to support your position with a CCG loss then you are SOL. Can’t ride an unbalanced schedule, while losing the only meaningful OOC game, to a conference champ game appearance only to lose and expect to get in. You’re gonna want to mention Texas, but Texas won their meaningful OOC game.

SMU and Texas have the most similar resumes of any two teams in the conversation and Texas is going to be comfortably in.
