Yeah but you can argue the same issue with that is the same issue weāre having right now. Theyāve expanded the number of teams but clearly the criteria hasnāt changed and more than that might be required to create more parity like structurally the entire framework of college football may have to change in order to create more balanced competition cause Theyāre 4 or 5 lost teams out there right now that would probably fair better in these 2 games than these teams did but thatās difficult to evaluate currently because you have to reward the teams who dominate their conference yet all conferences are obviously not created equal and never will be, at least not as currently constructed.
Right. Alabama's 4.1 yards per play and 3 total points against Oklahoma and their 40 points given up to Vanderbilt really make me think they'd have a strong chance in this game
Ole Miss' home loss to Kentucky, a team that finished 1-7 in conference and 4-8 overall (their only P4 win was again Ole Miss) really makes me believe they'd have a strong chance in this game
South Carolina's win over Clemson, a team everyone tells me isn't good enough to be in this playoff, really makes me believe they'd have a strong chance in this game
Indiana (worst team in college football history) and Texas (Top 2 team in the SEC, national championship contender) have the exact same f***ing resume

Any given Saturday
Any given Saturday
Yeah, any given saturday for SEC teams. Teams from other conferences don't get that privilege
When Alabama gets dominated by a bad Oklahoma team it's "any given Saturday"
When Indiana loses by 10 @ Notre Dame they're the most fraudulent team in the history of the sport and should never be invited back

Aye Fair is a place they judge pigs, the reality is these teams donāt have the same leeway the SEC does because the SEC is an historically competitive conference and always will be just by virtue of where these teams exist geographically. NIL changes that a little bit but what has Indiana done recently to earn any of our respect or benefit of the doubt?

Not lose to the bad teams on their schedule like Alabama, Ole Miss, and South Carolina

Cāmon bruh lmao they literally played nobody this year letās be real

Team A: 11-2, best win against Michigan, lost both top 10 matchups it played
Team B: 11-2, best win against Michigan, lost both top 10 matchups it played
Name these two teams

Any given Saturday works both ways
If that one win is what got them in over teams who played real competition throughout the year and despite their record, actually competed then yeah, the committee has some explaining to do

Klatt walks into this all the time
Did the committee get it right???
Did the committee get it right???
yes & even if they didnt all the qualms about getting it wrong are not that bad bc Alabama etc werenāt going to win today anyways

Oh wow you think??? Idk about that tbh. I agree that they got it right though.
If they want this to work, they are going to have to rebalance the conferences. Really there should only be two conferences and then divisions within the conferences. Thereās no reason why Indiana can win 11 games and their first true test is the playoffs. Thatās a flawed system and it puts the committee in a impossible position to āmake the right decisionā

Yes, this might have been the easiest year to choose the field. Everyone who was in earned it and nobody who was out did.

I donāt disagree. Iām not a fan of how they did the seeding though. Iām not quiet sure about auto bids for conference champs..

Indiana plays in the second best conference and played both teams in the natty from last year. Their SOS was an aberration and not anything that should be overanalyzed.

SMU is right there in this same argument with them tbh. Maybe not conference wise but strength of schedule wise. That should matter 100%

ND doesnāt belong then too
