Like genuinely we all saw how bad of a team Alabama was this past weekend but they still go to the playoffs?

I've seen so many people on twitter complain about the playoff selection but almost none of them mention none of them mention Alabama.

I'm not an Alabama fan or an SEC defender by any stretch but it really doesn't make sense to have three SEC teams that didn't even earn the right to play in the conference championship game stay in the field while a team that did earn the right to play in that game drops out because of a loss

As someone who was excited to move on from the 4 team format to the 12 team format, I'll be the first to admit that this has pretty much completely ruined the postseason

Bowl season is totally irrelevant outside of the CFP games. Teams that would have been afterthoughts in the 4 team era are emboldened now, flaunting their flawed resumes and acting like victims when they don't get in with 2-3 losses and no signature wins (by the way, this is obviously only going to get worse when it expands again to 16 and then 20/24 teams.) The playoff itself is littered with rematches - how do we get a first round SEC/G5 game that has already happened this year? The weekly rankings are an absolute mess, constant overreactions and overcorrections by the committee that just reek of laziness and incompetence. The 5 seed is by far the most desirable seed in the entire bracket... how does that make any sense at all?

This format was a fun experiment but at this point I'd rather just go back to the BCS era
