What are some good reliable laptops that are in the £800 ($1000) to £1000 ($1200) range?

Preferably with a processor better than the intel i7...

there are i7s with 2 cores all the way to 8 cores

the clock speed, ipc and cores matter more than the product branding like i7

any 4th gen ryzen 7 would be better than any older i7 tho by a mile

there are a lot of laptops running them, i like the hp x360 and lenovo has plenty of models with that cpu

I've always liked Asus Zenbooks in that range. They make the best bang for your buck laptops imo. (Ignore the vivobooks, those are lower mid-range)
