Uhh trans and non binary people have existed for literally thousands of years. There are literally Sumerian texts that document trans people from 4500 years ago. They are not a "new thing" nor a cultural phenomenon. They are people. Elagabalus, a Roman emperor even used female pronouns and was seeking a doctor who could perform s***reassignment surgery.
