The Irishman was the best thing they’ve done in the last couple of years. Guess they didn’t make enough money on it for it to be worth it

    I agree loved Irishman

But in one tweet they say they’re done making smaller niche movies to focus on bigger movies then next tweet they say they won’t be throwing money to big name directors/actors?

I guess it means they won't take anymore risks on projects that won't reach large audiences.
The average streaming viewer just isn't watching a 4 hour Scorsese film tbh

Expect big budget easily digestible films with big names tbh

yeah i guess it's way more profitable to crank out s***ty CGI MCU projects that the entire f***ing population will watch instead of something that has heart and soul in it like The Irishman

Netflix about to fumble the bag so hard. How you lose the race when you get a head start?

Can't be surprised, most of the Netflix audience is just casual binge watchers who can't handle a film like the Irishman. It was never gonna break records.

they were on borrowed time all along, what they needed to do is buy ip, the way they went about it (throwing money at whoever wants a new show) neccessitated them to hit an absurd amount of homeruns to stand a chance against hbo or disney. now that all the big boys caught wind of streaming, it's over
