yeah I imagine they use mac address tied with the home IP

set a limited number of devices that can be used outside the home IP but they have to have a mac that was used in the home before or something

hate to be a doomer but if this doesn't hurt Netflix too badly other streaming services will follow

they all already have this infrastructure in place for cracking down on accounts being hacked or shared by randoms just a matter of flipping a switch and making it work with families sharing
