Ultimately, I think this is still a pretty fun although extremely cynical film which surprised me given how people called this a simple fun turn your brain off film. The second half is extremely heavy and the anti capitalist themes are visually disheartening to see at points (seeing Guz smiling at the money dropping on him as he’s dying is just wow)

The stuff about the time loop is super interesting whether or not it becomes a real concept to be explored or it’s just an a\*\*\*ogy to the idea of slaving for the rich as a cycle || but ultimately I thought this was pretty enjoyable and tbh don’t really think anything could’ve been cut out. I did have some issues with some inconsistent character decisions ( || if this group distrusts the security guy, why did nobody question him after the s\*\*\* he pulled on the chick? Furthermore why would that girl even trust this dude after that s\*\*\*? )

I also found the shallow depth of focus to be pretty overbearing at points. It does create a unique look at times but ultimately not sure if this was a result of shooting a film in a pandemic or Snyder being the DP, but either way the cinematography was a miss for me

Watched this off an edible this past weekend and even that couldn't save this movie

All the small dramatic moments with Bautista were so hard to sit through. I'm still at that artisanal grilled cheese line

and the gear grinding tonal shift from Cruz admitting her love for Bautista's character to getting her neck snapped, what was Snyder thinking
