Just finished this. Absolutely amazing.

I generally liked the cyberpunk adjacent bits of the show. falco didn't really come out of nowhere tbh. he's an old merc in night city.

the reason it wasn't amazing was mostly the anime tropes that they were essentially forced to include to please anime fans.

Finally got around to watching this.

Really enjoyed the game, did 2 play throughs on various builds and life paths

This show fking slapped.

It’s a lot more nuanced than most animes in that there isn’t really a clear antagonist.

David doesn’t have any inner demons, no huge conflict. Really he’s just a victim of the environment.

Like when you think about it, everything bad that happened to him was due to a variety of things, not one singular evil force.

With that said, Adam smasher coming in and mopping the floor with them was the most badass thing I’ve seen in an anime.

This entire time David is portrayed as special, he can beat the odds and overcome the cyberpsychosis. I thought it was so fitting when he first meets Smasher

Goes “Any brain left in that chrome dome of yours”

Adam goes “You could say I’m.. special..”

Felt like SUCH an intentional line given how David the entire story calls himself special.

Great show tbh, fantastic ending.
