Finishing season 1 and holy s*** those rednecks are not f***ing around

Such an unsatisfying death

Yea. I just finished watching and that really pissed me off.
I watched Season 1 and wasn't feeling it that much. Felt like a lame Breaking Bad with characters I didn't like as much and villains I found less intimidating. Is it worth watching? Like is this up there with Mr Robot, Succession, BCS as one of the best shows in recent years?

It’s not quite as good as those IMO because the plot goes very over the top, sort of like House of Cards where s*** just feels unrealistic because of the absurdity of it. it’s still very good but it’s not goated

Yeah, that's what I thought. Not really willing to invest time in a new series right now unless it's really good, so I'll skip this

This ain't even in the same ballpark as Breaking Bad tbh. I will say though, S3 was very very entertaining.
regarding the very last moment of the show...
are we to believe jonah shot and killed Mel in cold blood? I feel like they would have taken the ashes back and told him to get off their property, not killed him. I mean I guess killing him is better for their future as long as they get away with it, but it didn't seem like Jonah should or would shoot him in that moment. he was a civilian not even a criminal.

He'd pointed the rifle at someone before that

agreed. what they didnt tell you is that mel informed multiple people including the female FBI agent of where he was going and after his disappearance the byrd family all got busted for murder. marty took the fall but the 3 other family members got charged with being an accessory to murder. what a shame.

Sounds like the plot outline for a comeback season
