no i said he has no input on production
you want me to clap for him picking beats?
No you didn't
All i can say is if i like what i hear i bump it. I like the overall soundscape, even if its almost singularly due to the production
this is why 2020s dance music is GOAT while still being respectful to its genre and influences and still sounding cohesive
shout out house, garage, synthwave and dance pop
or rap/rnb/electronic/ambient/vaporware beat tapes and instrumental albums with the occasional singing feat or dj shout out and speech to amp it up once in a while
theres other places i can get dope beats and vibes without the extra fluff and noise - or without the least fav n weakest part

and you know this how? he obviously sticks with ok because he fits the sound he’s going for
beach leak could've gone to anyone else man
i'd rather hear Laila or Kelz2Busy or someone over that s***
nah beach leak is it

What's that means
shaperbox is this FX VST that essentially has a bunch of preset options where you can mess with a sound and make it all glitchy and stuff
it's often used for electronic music and that kind of sound design, but it's unique for this kinda stuff cause it's not utilized as much

That sounds neat
this is one of the very few forms of music where i do agree is better off not doing a full project and agree it would actually benefit them (which i think most forms of music it would end up hurting and not make sense in).
keep it to singles, loosies, music videos, visualizers and maybe the once in a blue moon short ep.
and then if you do have a lot of tracks out at some point, make an official playlist(s) from you the artist that organizs them to fit a mood or concept or vibe - still keeps that singles/loosies energy and artist interaction while still having a place you can go to experience a bunch of tracks at once that can also be ever changing.
the true meaning of a playlist project, the true idea of tlop or more life taht is also fully cut off from traditional format because it is not traditional music. and it would actually work with this type of music n a few others, when it wouldnt for most.
beat selection sure but not the production of this stuff
im not giving anyone some sort of artistic credence for beat selection, not picking s***ty beats should be a given
Beat curation is absolutely a talent
it’s not bad but him & ok kinda went lone & lil88 towards the middle. every beat started sounding like a variation of f*** swag, which wouldn’t be too bad if nett had more to say.
he also didn’t explore himself vocally enough (Tommy don’t count after I heard withdrawls)
growing up, tyla, beach leak my favs rn off first listen
Beat curation is absolutely a talent
Look at lil baby's career and say beat selection isn't a talent

I know you remember how excessively Rocky used to be glazed for his "ear for beats" lmao

Beat selection is more about your taste. Baby's obviously sucks.
Beat curation is absolutely a talent
simply picking good beats isnt curation lol

I think being able to pick beats that are good that fit your vocals is a skill
Taste matters too
But you can still end up picking beats that are good that you won't be able to sound good on
I know you remember how excessively Rocky used to be glazed for his "ear for beats" lmao
at least he had a hand in production and worked primarily with his own in-house producer
