I never really got into them despite being a fan of experimental hip hop, but holy f*** Daveed Diggs can bring it on some of these tracks. He went bar for bar with Benny the Butcher on this song. The atmosphere and everything was on point

After listening to their last 2 albums, they’re still hit or miss for me, but when Daveed isn’t rapping in double time he can really flow. When they hit the mark they really f***ing hit it

I haven’t listened to a lot of their music but have a great deal of respect for them. Their frontman does a lot of great posts on Passionweis discussing old school southern hip hop

but why does KTT hate double time so much? ya it doesnt sound good when its ALL a rapper does (logic,modern eminem), but its still sounds great when done right

I mean I can see the lyrics being jarring in Daveed’s verses because it’s from a horrorcore album so the lyrics are graphically violent, ain’t gonna be some s*** you bump in the car. but his rapping was great

the pitchfork review for this album sucks so bad. saying Daveed is a terrible rapper, but like.. he isn’t. sure I don’t like the double time stuff he inevitably breaks into on most tracks, but I can’t knock his talent. I like that when he raps slow that his style is very similar to FlyLo
