That's the issue. He puts his attention on too many things which leads to a lack of development in the end. He's gotta focus on one thing at a time to maintain the proper care they need. Just the overall narrative shifting towards Ye becoming crazy "please pray for our brother" wasn't really needed. Had it just been candid bts moments like the ones that were shown in the series stitched together. It would've been a lot better than making it a narrative piece.

One of my main problems was that Coodie’s decision to include his story in the narrative felt like a really weak choice

I never got this point, his narrative ties everything together. His story was pretty essential to the doc and even then all his parts are really small

It was essential to the doc cause that’s what he chose to make the doc about
It’d be one thing if the film depicted an interesting relationship between himself and Kanye
But it doesn’t
It’s about what Kanye means to him
And Coodie’s story frankly feels like small potatoes in the grand scheme of things
It never resonates
With Kanye’s story, I think we should be a fly on the wall
Or looking through God’s peephole
How Coodie did it just felt amateur

Nah it's essential because he's the one that recorded the footage as someone who knew him for years. And he did it before anyone knew ye would be ye. That alone adds to the overall doc and ye's whole philosophy of believing in urself.
