    you're dumb as s***

Machine learning and AI technology is nowhere near the creative potential that humans have in art

Most people who work in AI agree on that. These works being presented by OP are decor at best. They aren’t expressive and contain none of the subtext that art has.

    Art is more than aesthetics

but honestly i don't see this taking over artist jobs anytime soon. it's a cool novelty, but jobs like videogame concept or film storyboards/animation are always going to involve team cooperation to try and nail a certain feel and vision. even in terms of commission work, i don't see it being a replacement except in a 'fast food' kinda way, like if someone just wanted a quick and easy painting.

i don't see any ai creation ever inspiring or making me feel the way my favorite works of art have. maybe i'm just coping

speaking of fast food there's literally a McDonald's thread next to this one

i get what you're saying but the rate at which this s*** spits out results combined with even more fine tuning could really mean the end of a whole host of artists jobs

i hope you're right but fast food dominates the globe too so like

yeah, like what genius over here is missing is that you could take most of these and remove it from the A.I context and a layman wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a human hand or a generated one

im just gonna sit back and pray that im wrong

Concept artists don't work on expressing their own art they are available to help actualize the given project into visual, and that's already what this AI is doing

There's also the matter of time invested, payment and having to find the talent. Ultimately tech progression is always about making s*** convenient

It’s hilarious you have a jimi avi but “k” what he said when he’s completely right. A f***ing ai could probably do everything jimi did on guitar. Guess what? Nobody gives a f***.

well yeah, but theres always a back and forth between people like the writers and illustrators, and the product will definitely have a part of the artist whether intentional or not

doubt an ai can reproduce the angles and tone that had to be talked over in even commercial works like these
    danmilligan.artstation.com

but yeah for like concept art with a simple prompt like 'fantasy dragon in a modern city done in loose digital art style', i could see it being used heavily for.

"Kanye sounding 2004 sampling this Aretha Franklin song".

    Would end music artists, too.
