Just want to speak on the topic of age in rap for a second: in the grand scheme of music, rap is a really young genre. 50~ years is nothing compared to jazz, blues, etc. Fans of the genre are starting to grow with it and their standards and expectations are shifting.
Rock had its coming of age in the 90s when its biggest acts got old, went to rehab and started stripping things back. The golden age rappers are finding their place in the culture and in their art and it's a positive thing. Rap doesn't have to be a young person's genre; the tropes attributed to it in its heyday are often worn better by younger people, but rap doesn't have to stop there. It can go so much further topically.
