I actually just did some math looking at how the bundles change affected certain artists who dropped in a recent time-frame to said change and how the percentage of pure sales decreased from that time and when applied to BH, I got around 30k FW assuming they followed the trend of a about 25-30% overall FW sales decrease along with me applying a 89% decrease in pure sales (without the decrease and assuming that they'd have just the overall FW sales decrease, the numbers look like 55K)
Of course, this is variable because I didn't fair to measure the chance of an increase in popularity but that might be fine considering what's happened with the pandemic as it might balance out between the probability of them gaining more fans from a potential tour they had set up this year vs. the pandemic decreasing their overall status/no new official music on streaming services.
The pure sales changes really do affect artists who have a somewhat of a hyper-circulated fanbase because those do tend to be the kind who would in the past gravitate towards merchandise and other things of that sort vs. the common listener who would just listen to the album on a streaming service with no other real interaction. This is something that someone like 21 Savage has which allowed him to still do almost 150k+ first week without pure sales.
Perhaps, but with 71% of their sales on Ginger being physical along with a decline in sales from first week (28% decrease) and first week physical sales (30% decrease) it becomes really hard to imagine. Especially with how a single won't necessarily carry an album sales like that anymore.
Combine this along with the fact that they can't tour will probably add to some potential financial challenges they may face from trying to rollout this album in the current circumstances of the pandemic. That's really why only the big guys can do this comfortably or smaller artists who already had a well living before their music career.
nerd

your initial post is funny because even at the end of this one you realize that it applies to every non-superstar artist

Truth be told everything I’ve said is at a very face level value of just raw information.
Doesn’t take into account anything that happens behind the scenes so eh
