It feels like a continuation of that side of MOTM3 but this time it’s actually consistent and there’s a lot more of Cudi rapping

I was one of the people who was let down by some of the tracks on MOTM 3 at first but I’m enjoying this a lot

Ah bet. What tracks from there would you say remind you of MOTM3? I did like Electrowavebaby from the leak but that’s the only joint I was feeling 100%

Actually love when cudi is just rapping on this. some of his vocal approaches are almost like AKNC tracks

but autotune ā€˜yahhhh’ adlib stuff is dry as hell imo. And I liked it a lot on MOTM3 but I think the production on there struck the cudi balance in a better way.

Okay okay I left off on Tale of Knight and wondering what else he added to it. Cause I didn’t like Keep Bouncing at all when I heard it last year and now i f***s with it a lot now

I don’t know the tracklist well enough after just 1 listen but that’s the overall vibe I got

I feel like I’m doing this project a disservice actually by saying it’s a continuation of that sound. It is, but at the same time the whole album is consistently a different sound than any other Cudi album

Pretty much no slow tracks on here, very upbeat instrumentals and a confident Cudi. For the people that like his lyrics and themes relating to depression in particular this might feel a bit hollow but I’m just happy he’s in a better place rn. You can really hear it through the music

Has Cudi explained why he wanted DJ Drama on this album?
Do you think Tyler doing it recently might’ve inspired Cudi to do it as well?

lol Tyler was not the first person to use dj drama or any other dj to host a mixtape bro.

Pretty much the only thing I dislike about modern Cudi are the adlibs he be using nowadays lol

Not to the point where it ruins tracks but it’s def not his strongest point for sure

He’s the first major artist to have Drama host a studio album tho right?

I can tell some of yall didn’t grow up in the datpiff/livemixtape era…having a dj all over ur tape isn’t something new or different. It’s basically the norm for a mixtape coming from that era of hiphop.

We just don’t see this stuff as much now because everybody drops straight to streaming services therefore djs hosting tapes isn’t popular like it used to be.
