No it did not lol, the vast majority of this site loved motm3, this is some major revisionst history. All you have to do is go bump the thread and look at the responses. 75-80% of them are positive.

Motm3 went platinum
When you escape the echo chamber that is the internet and ktt you realize most people who listened to that project enjoyed it and kept listening.

I was literally here on KTT2 in the MOTM3 thread and watched all of it unfold. People were overjoyed at first that they finally got a follow up to MOTM 1 & 2 and the majority praised it like you said. But after the new release hype wore off, the criticisms towards sounding too much like Travis and the adlibs really began to sound off. To the point where I started having to defend that album because the majority of it is classic Cudi.

And that’s really where all the recent onslaught of hate today towards Kid Cudi began. Because from 2016-2020 he was beloved on here.

He never got hate like that til the Kanye beef. Some ktt dweebs saying he sounded like Travis on a couple songs isn’t hate. It’s just stupidity.

Also ktt does that s*** with every album, albums drops and the first week it’s classic and flawless. Fast forward a month later and there’s threads everyday about how it’s overrated now and nothing special lmfao. Majority of people on this site are here to argue about music rather than appreciate it.

That being said I’m really looking forward to Superboy and the song with wiz, been wanting cudi and him to collab for over a decade lol. Hopefully cudi can bring some of that old wiz charm out like spitta does.

An album going platinum does not make it immune to criticism. Man On The Moon 3 was always going to do well obviously, as the sequel of 2 classic albums.

You can deflect and act like it was 2 people who felt that way, but It wasn’t. It was enough people to the point now where you bring up MOTM3, and it’s immediately disrespected.
