This is a dialogue of what is on his mind, what don't you understand about that?
It's a dialogue between him and the audience and the stage is the medium.
It's not the following things or responsibility of him to do the following things
A platform to advocate or for him to be an advocate
Critical a***ysis/oral presentation of the topic
No, it's a comedian using his time to have a conversation about what is troubling him/what he feels about it.
He's talking on a human level here, if he had this conservation with you face to face would you be critical that he didn't mention women?
No. You'd just go " Hey yeah but I also want to say ...." Because yea it's convo that's 1:1 open to response.
And what was on his mind was about Black people but included no Black women.
That is what we are talking about. What are you not getting?
Its really telling that a lot of people in this thread would rather defend and argue about Dave Chappele then acknowledge how damaging the lack of representation and voice for black women is in this fight for racial equality and how this special contributes to that damage.
Why don’t Tiffany Haddish or Wanda Sykes drop a special then?
Yall are really reaching
You are quoting me with that when I'm here talking about Dave, and so has that user been here, talking about Dave.
Dave has a big platform, and that's why we are talking about what he created.
Several posters already argued that what he created is not an exhaustif list of random black victims of police brutality(or should i say murder) but rather a piece that wove his personal life with what he experienced witnessing these traumatic murders happen (witness as in hearing about ir on the news etc)
Why don’t Tiffany Haddish or Wanda Sykes drop a special then?

This doesn't even make sense, now a Black woman has to drop a special to get Black womens voices amplified?

why does gender matter that much, people are human i don't think that Dave chapelle said : wow im traumatized, idk what's happening to the country right now bit f black women I'm only talking about men and children.

And I'm not arguing for a full list of all Black people killed, I am talking about how a random list and a whole discussion had no Black women voices amplified and it happens often.
He has Black women in his life as do many Black men, but these discussions never include those voices.

Nikka what? He was speaking on police brutality which is not an issue exclusive to black men but thats how he framed it and that is damaging because it continues the trend of how black women get erased in this conversation. Do you even believe what you are typing out at this point or are you just arguing to argue?
If Tiffany Haddish & Wanda Sykes drop specials you're not gonna watch them and neither will a big chunk of Black men cuz y'all don't care about Black womens opinions.
Source: thread.

Black women are human and people who are harmed thats why, if you leave them out no one discusses the harm caused to us.
You all keep saying its for "Black people" and get mad that we said women who are apart of that are not included in these discussions.
And what was on his mind was about Black people but included no Black women.
That is what we are talking about. What are you not getting?
You can't speculate what was on his mind and why he chose to deliver his thoughts the way he did. What are you trying to do here?
The topic of gender may be foremost on your mind but it's not to him. The objective here is to describe his pain. He could have mentioned no one but Floyd and it wouldn't have it a lesser special.
I don't think you really understand the platform of a comedian and the point of their comedy.
Also good job not thinking about what someone sent to you as a response.
Literally replied in 5 seconds lol.

Ok, i must admit that I'm lost, I don't understand the concept of voices you're talking about, how do you mesure that? Im asking honestly not trying to be smart or anything

I can't speculate I can go off what he talked about which is what I'm doing.
I'm being critical and discussing what he spoke on.
I type fast, I thought about what you said, I read it and I feel a lot of what you said had nothing to do with my point so I did not address it.
What Chapelle said in this special: “Fuck the police, it’s f***ed up how they treat black people and help enforce the systematic racism that plagues the country to this day. Something needs to change
”
What lipstick alley users think he said: “Fuck all black women, I’m gonna purposely leave out their names so they realize how much I don’t care about them. Really hope they keep getting killed by police
”
Ok, i must admit that I'm lost, I don't understand the concept of voices you're talking about, how do you mesure that? Im asking honestly not trying to be smart or anything
Measure? What do you mean measure?

It has entirely to do with the point you missed.
You're assessing a stand up special as an essayist which is misguided.

It does not, I'm treating this as a disucssion on Black life by a Black man through his eyes, and I am discussing what I saw as the outcome.
itt: women creating arguments with no foundation for attention
You ain't saying s*** either, you just want a reaction and attention. Here's a crumb.
itt: women creating arguments with no foundation for attention
Forreal lol, peak narcissism
I think you're missing the point but 👌🏾
They’re not. They’re just catching on to you bringing attention to how other black men have brought up black women being victims. However no matter what rapper you bring up they’re not the focus of the conversation. The focus is on Dave Chappelle since were in a Dave Chappelle thread. Don’t derail it with videos of other people.
You ain't saying s*** either, you just want a reaction and attention. Here's a crumb.
keep spinning your "Why didn't Dave mention black women?" bs for another few pages
Forreal lol, peak narcissism
Narcissism to care about Black life whew that's different.
Gender matters, because Black women are not as uplifted in these discussions. It's about Black People but Black women are often taking a backseat.
If you believe it is about all our struggles then amplify all our voices. That is the whole problem.
You are basically just saying he has a focus on manhood and men but I'm wrong for saying so as well, how does that work?
Those mens stories aren't his story but he amplified them, Black women are part of his life but those voices weren't included.
Well to date the only HBO special i found about a victim of police murder is sandra bland
so once again by what do you measure the lack of uplifting for black women who were victims
It does not, I'm treating this as a disucssion on Black life by a Black man through his eyes, and I am discussing what I saw as the outcome.
Yes it is does because it's his narrative not yours.
His omission of mentioning a women victim does take away from the point HE was trying to say.
You're looking for comprehensiveness and it's not the point.
