That poster missed the whole point of the special. Celebrity overexposure/aloofness and how Dave only talked about the incidents that had direct parallel to his life, were caught on camera and his family.
His grandfather
Kobe’s 8/24 being his birthday
8:46 being his time of birth.
The cop that pulled him over the day before he murdered someone.
Many more but I don’t feel like typing the rest. It was pretty straightforward too. People thrive off divisiveness.
Y'all thrive off misogynoir. He has no Black women in his family? He's not effected by Breonna Taylor being murdered in her sleep?
Why is there always an excuse for this s***. Just admit you and Dave don't think about Black women. You don't care about Black women. F*** this worshipping Dave Chappelle for this same exact s*** all the time. Niggas can't wait to defend it either.
When you talk about racial violence for almost half an hour and never include the name of Black women but include multiple Black men there's a serious issue. It's erasure.
Do you actually believe Dave intentionally left out women? The names he focused on reflect what the media covered the most.

🤦🏾♂️

Yes I do. Breonna Taylor was covered in media too, that's not a good excuse to me.
This isn't new for him either. It's okay to admit Dave Chappelle is a voice for Black men and not Black people when the rest of us get excluded from everything.
In skimmed in to see if this is actually a half hour special
He got a socially distanced crowd with masks on and s***?
All the comedians who had to put their specials on hold are gonna steal this idea by next week
Nobody’s stealing it. Dave doesn’t do comedy for the money and he can afford to have a couple dozen audience members. You can’t really socially distance thousands at an event
Dave Chapelle has this comforting aura about him.
He lays some powerful s*** down that might make some uncomfortable, but he does it in such a real and authentic way. He feels like the cool uncle who's earned his stripes.
Hearing him lay s*** out without all the extra bullshit attached is a breath of fresh air. I could listen to him talk forever. Hell, if he ever decided to just do a tour where he talked about his life in a non-comedic way, I would go to it in a heartbeat.
A monthly podcast
And gained him 60 million on his return
Hard to tell what the gain/loss would be through inflation but it’s clearly worth every penny to keep his freedoms
thought this was great
This niggas outfits are so gross bruh
From rick james to rick owens the range is nasty
Not one Black woman who's a victim of racial violence mentioned.
Tried of Chappelle.
if he mentioned breonna but not tony mcdade you would've had an issue with that too shorty.
can't please everyone tho.
Powerful monologue. This world doesn’t deserve someone as good as Dave Chapelle

Both can't be mentioned?
Are you saying it's physically impossible for Black men to care about other members of Black communities at one time
Because other Black people have had no issue doing this. Seems to be consistent with the men.

"can't please everyone tho."

I'm not talking about personal politics.
He didn't bother to mention one Black woman's name. Not discuss her at length, but not even mention her.
I knew this thread would get defensive, but not realizing how excluded from these discussions Black women feel. It's harmful and hurtful, Dave has been criticized for it before and continues to do it. The Black woman he decided to speak about is coon Candace Owen's.

except joe budden podcast did a whole thing about breonna taylor my g.
fail to see how one man's special all of a sudden means black women are excluded from these discussion(s).

The exception is not the rule, please don't act like what I'm saying is overblown.
This is being praised as some super uplifting piece for Black people when it's not. It's for Black men. Black women get excluded from these things all the time and it's not okay, it can't be brushed off either.
ALL Black men need to be inclusive of other Black people. Black trans people, Black women and Black disabled folks have always done this in their art two fold and it's not returned. Don't lie about it
