This whole album feels like DMX and Swizz were trying to "restore the feeling". It sounds like an album from 2003, which can be taken as a negative and positive.

I blame Swiss for this. He tried touse his s***ty hype beats that X voice couldn’t float over anymore. He should have been on chill beats like Take Control. They didn’t work with his voice at all.

Same issue with Undisputed which was a pretty good album but mixing made it unlistenable

So far...idk man. It's not like a Big Day/Revival/Total Xanarchy bad. Definitely not.

But it's not the swan song they were hyping it up to be. Granted I should've had realistic expectations from a Swizz Beatz produced album in 2021, but I really felt like DMX was coming through with a vengeance.

But this is more like...Swizz Beatz and friends with one friend being DMX.

I will say, most of the features have done a good to great job though.

There’s literally three listenable songs on this Take Control, walking in the rain and letter to my son. X needed these chill beats.
