Scorpion was a miss for many people
The truth is that Drake hasn’t had dropped a project with universal acclaim, let alone praise and admiration, since IYRITL. When people point this out, stans talk about how much they love Views/Scorpion/More Life/etc — but their opinion doesn’t change the overwhelming public feeling that every project has been underwhelming these past 5 years.
imo it’s cuz IYRTITL was the last album that we heard an explicitly hungry version of Drake who was officially claiming his top spot in the game
all the music that’s come afterwards more or less amounts to him relishing in his success after reaching the top of the mountain, as he rightfully should..but then u get the detractors saying his stuff is boring/uninspired now
some of the leaks truly do have me hopeful tho

XO fan base has declined so much over the last year. Mfer went from having one of the goat fan bases to one of the worst.
You could say the same about most fan bases tbh. Bey Hive, Barbz, BTS Army, Swifties, Beliebers, Ariana's fanbase, even Cardi B's fanbase. They all have people who are very toxic and problematic who ruin the image of the entire fanbase because not every fan is that deranged.
