I don’t really agree fam, I don’t think singles really impact how people view a discography in retrospect. (At least for Kendrick especially who is an album artist) And besides that I think it being so different and it just being a bop for the clubs and people to scream the quotables is just what Kendrick needed in his discography full of more heavier themed music imo

Drake clearly was expecting Kendrick to respond to The Heart Pt 6. He ended up being wrong about that, but presumably he was planning to counter whatever Kendrick responded with. So the question is, Now that Kendrick has gone quiet does Drake still follow up?

Get out while you still can. I was giving Drake nothing but props for weeks on here but but now that the beef is done and I gave my personal W to Kendrick I immediately got jumped by multiple OVO Stans on here

It’s really a minefield, are you gonna find that 1 person that’s gonna have a cool ass convo with you or are you gonna find one of the delusional Stans that are full of aggression lol

I don't mean it trashes it or ruins him, I just don't think it sits that well with his discography. You got the guy who made an album as introspective as MM&TBS, now singing "69 God" like cmon. Kendrick was able to make high quality hits, this overall situation is just him getting his hands very dirty. Which sure might have been needed for the beef, but idk I just think it takes away from his "prestige" a lil. Obviously I have my biases though.

Don't think it's fair to say he needed NLU in his discography, that's just short term because other than "Like That" he hasn't had a super hit recently.

Idk I’ve always seen him as this hyper competitive psycho rapper lol yes he has great songs with a deeper artistic motive behind it doesn’t mean he can’t be that and also gets his hands dirty

People be forgetting sometimes that he already came in the game trying to be a bully on the mic. Remember the Monster remix way back when? People think he started to get blood thirsty when Control happened but he was always like this

Yes ofc this situation is way more dirty but that was kind of expected giving their long history of resentment towards each other. Idk I just never viewed Kendrick as this “good guy” people like to frame him as. Maybe that’s why this situation doesn’t surprise me
