RIP XXX. he had a lot of potential not just as an artist but someone who could change culture.

wish he had the chance to grow old and become a great man fr. ultimately he died as a young guy who made plenty of mistakes but at least he wanted to grow past them.

and I love his music but my guy would most likely be sitting in the can if he didn't get killed. X was basically facing life

You could post pics like this for literally every artist

    good boy

I fully believe x was an angel sent to us from whatever god you believe.

he presented us a child - not a man. a 20 year old child who was clearly flawed and clearly wise beyond his years.

for almost a year he showed nothing but positivity and his following wasn’t over looks or music - it was over the way he made them FEEL wanted and important in the world. he publicly stated that he wants to right his wrongs but he doesn’t know if it’s too late.

then, we all watched him get murdered. 8 million followers, millions of dollars, gunned down over a petty 50k. lifeless body all on the internet.

remember he died in 2018, when woke culture was first touching the mainstream. mental illness, and protecting minorities from poverty and gun violence are the main points right?

so this black CHILD, who grew up in poverty, gets killed from gun violence. and I saw people who’s entire brand was being woke say he deserved it.

his purpose was to pose a question. we’re all flawed, can humans forgive? can you forgive a CHILD, for doing the worst of the worst, if they show true change? to me, that is his legacy forever. and to me, like Kanye said, not supporting him publicly over his allegations was the true sunken place. hating someone even after such a tragedy is the sunken place. x did better for himself. we can all do so, so much better. and we can definitely start by forgiving someone who went through so much agony, only to end up as caring and positive as he was in his final year.

    real

He was saying dumb s*** the year he died (“im not a feminist. women are more powerful than men because hilary ran for president”) soooooo

He was threatening his victim the year he died. If I recall how recent that call was that dropped.

Yesh, maybe he could’ve changed. But he already by that point had did some horrific and unforgivable s*** that it wouldn’t matter (and shouldnt, the reason one decides to change should be about themselves, not to gain the approval of others)

Remember, he was without a doubt doing serious jail time

That was the year before he died I believe. He was playing video games and hanging out with the victim the year he died so they made up. He was definitely gonna serve his time too. I feel like he was trying to change and deserved a chance. That’s all. We could argue all day about it but we’ll never get to a conclusion

I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me, he was already on that path before he died as well.

I've seen ppl here and on social media say he deserved to die, it's crazy.

I mean a nigga that force tongs into his victims p**** then denies and starts gaslighting her and using his fans to bully her...

Maybe that says something about the state of the youth as a whole. Bunch of angry, frustrated young men (and some women) who for whatever reason feel like their back is to the wall constantly, and have to claw their way out no matter who (or what) is standing in their way.

I agree with this completely. Again not defending Xxx actions or him as a person but the people choose you to be their voice you don’t decide. There’s a lot of angry kids out here today because they’re either growing up with no direction in life, confused about their identity, or have to endure poverty and all that comes with it. So it makes sense why someone like Xxx would speak to them.

There’s also an element of you being the non-black consumer of black art archetype that doesn’t see black artists as three dimensional human beings but you think you’re better than a racist cause it manifests ‘positively’ in the form of infantilism rather than demonizing

    But that’s another topic 😊
