Getting a lotta flack online for low budget look but honestly I personally dig the horror vibe and it being written by the actual og creators feels like it was made with respect to the source material

The Del toro film is a fave of mine but it definitely isn’t the most accurate adaptation wise.
More action/comedy than horror. Hopefully this one is dope

something being more comic accurate doesn't equate to it being good. casuals and fans of the og material managed to enjoy the del toro adaptations because they were engaging stories with good special effects.

the 2019 reboot was too preoccupied with pursuing the latter and this one is too preoccupied with the former. without a higher budget and stronger effort to balance the two this doesn't deserve benefit of the doubt. it deserves the flack and will probly be the final nail in the coffin for this franchise for a long while
