I got 120 on one a few months ago, it’s just dumb cause it tests for such a tiny subset of the ways humans are intelligent

Yeah these tests are never really accurate. There was one time I scored a ~130, a few times where it was in the 100-120 range, and another time it said 'answers are too weak to calculate a score'. Who knows at this point. If anything like you said: it just tests for a small subset of humans. Most of these tests just seem to be to test people if they're capable of thinking 'outside the box'.

Good point - There are so many things to still discover about the human brain and how it works. IQ tests really (at their best) like you said are a measly way to measure 'abstract thinking' and that is about it. The right side of your brain is measured in more of what you execute creatively.

I have an above average vocabulary but some of those words were just s*** you never see or hear, so I refute that part of the IQ test. I’ve also always struggled with contrived memory games, so naturally I’m f***ed on those sections. The block rotating was the easiest part, but some of those select the dot closest to all the other dots things didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.

nah everyone has their strengths. my spatial and verbal iq was high but my memory iq was average. everyone has their own strengths and perceives the world differently the single number is a composite of all three
