But it's pretty tone deaf to drop it at this very moment tbf

How is that tone deaf. It's actually suggesting ways to better the movement and not be detrimental to it. Tone deaf would be him just trying to clear his name. No he's speaking on the movement as a whole

Cause even tho his response is warranted imo, two black girls just die couple days ago and he's worry about some petty s*** and even though noname didnt do it for him, he could just contact her about it.

I see ur point about bettering the movement tho, but his approach of talking to a black woman about it and making her the springboard for his message is problematic during this time and even just in general, he could of just left it ambiguous using "they", "their", "people" stuff like that and it would of went better

  • damn this thread the first time im seeing j cole stans in ages

Noname being called smart and "high IQ" but not understanding the central limit theorem when it comes to her audience is hilarious .

Since white people are the largest group in the population it follows that for a large enough sample of that population there will also be the largest group of that sample.

    Simple statistics

Cmon Ari, you can do better.

I've never listened to a single one of her records but even I know that she can't, she can't do better. Too dramatic.

Cole is at his best when he in this poetic free form thought spilling mode and he actually got something to talk about

not when he’s trying to make the deepest concept album of all time

    Synopsis

Can you actually like, point out these condescending tweets? and yes, literally, use google. you can literally go to google type in police or prison abolition reading lists or resources and have a full wealth of material at your fingertips. idk where someone would have had to have been living these past few weeks to miss all this.

Missing my whole ass point. The point is that you don't go "use google" when people are asking you to educate them and be patient with them because they're not where you're at. You don't go "she's been putting out resources". Reading a book does not suddenly make you an expert or intelligent or completely changed by a certain subject. It just makes you AWARE. What you DO with that information is more important. It's one thing to READ about police brutality and black marginalization; it's another thing to DO something about it.

The teacher in a classroom expects their students to learn, not to know the s*** already. Noname grinded for the information herself, but not everybody is going to be built like her. That's what leaders are for. A strong black woman who has the knowledge and the resources and the understanding would not have yalls sentiments of "use google". No, she's going to educate them. This ain't the time for earthy b****es on twitter to be looking to tear down one of their brothers because he did something stupid. Okay, niggas do stupid s*** all the time; yall know that off rip--GUIDE THEM. The saying: behind every great man is a greater woman doesn't f***ing exist for no damn reason. Instead they choose to cut his ass up and focus on some incredibly minute s*** and instead of being the bigger people they perpetuate some dumbass, non-existent gender beef when Noname was in the wrong from the jump.

And what do you mean "point out the tweets"? The basis of our entire conversation right now is predicated on THIS:

People are mad at Cole because he responded to a pretentious b**** who used a black mans death and weaponized it against Cole because he didn't openly tweet about the situation.

And honestly, I dont know why Ari made that post about Noname. Its a developing story.

    Cole responded pretentiously too

Straight cisgender Black men are being killed by the police

Black women, Black trans people, and Black queer people are being killed by the police AND Black men

    That’s the point

Did we get a ft. on J.Cole song?!

  • I think it’s a little funny how Cole is basically conveying the same sentiment Kanye had with mental slavery in this

What are the chances J.Cole scraped the whole The Fall off bc of the situation in America and is going to release another "recorded in 7 days" album?
