    Yes
    Edit:added the smiley

alright. yes it has been done in the past absolutely. but what is the point of s***ting on the platform that is taking this movement to higher heights? simply because opinions are shared that are disagreeable? i just feel like a lot of people see Twitter as groupthink, when really it's a space where people can and should feel comfortable to express views that they may not be in the best position to do in real life. a lot of necessary conversation happens on there, and i think it only gets toxic when you focus on the toxic parts of it.

twitter is an excellent source, i'd even go as far to say it's invaluable in these times.

edit: no need to add the smiley i wasn't calling you out lol, just not wasting my breath on white people who won't even try to get it.

if there's any main criticism i've been seeing it's this

the question is just why? at a time like this? ok so you feel called out by your peer, nigga then go and do something about it.

exactly. such more important topics right now. why dropping a song about this

  • Jun 17, 2020

I guess Cole is well-intentioned but he comes across as over-emotional and simple. This song really wasn’t warranted..

    Dope song tho

Do what? He was protesting when KTT wanted to cancel him bc they didn't see a picture of him protesting. Then he gets called out and issues a response that amounts to "preaching to the congregation is cool but they already know the message...your message may spread to the people who need to hear it easier if you're teaching people from a place of empathy instead of chastising and talking down on them"

that's great but you're acting like whole revolutions weren't sparked centuries ago. Without Twitter. Media is propag-media, all throughout modern history.

I see what you're saying, but in these current times, Twitter been an all star app when it comes to sharing what's still been going on during these protests. People now are so easily and quickly providing more information on black people who have been getting lynched by racists while police and media attempt to cover them up as suicides, spreading informational videos and articles on black plight, police defunding, and community organization and mobilization.

Yeah, people do be doing the most on Twitter (shit that's just how it be on social media in general. Facebook, Reddit, IG, etc) but when you look at and use Twitter as a tool in which to get information from, it's reach and accessibility at times is outstanding. It can be used as a gateway for those looking for radicalized politics and groups as it can provide a wealth of knowledge for the newcomer so they can do the further research and studying through books, articles, and documentaries.

    I disagree
Group think happens when groups form, Twitter is not excempt from this. And neither are other notable social media platforms. But most importantly members on Twitter, fb... have acces to other people yes, but those other people also have acces to you, and those other people can be behind a computer screen compiling data in order to present to you what you will most likely agree/disagree with (remember the Facebook Cambridge-analytica scandal)
And Twitter hasn't lead to higher highs revolutionary wise if I'm not mistaken.
alot of movements haven't been effectif in real live yet (yellow vests in France started on social media but it hasn't led to any radical change that they want)

As a black man, if you still need someone to hold your hand in order to learn more about issues that pertain to and directly impact your black ass in this age of information where things are so quickly and easily accessible with a simple and free Google search ion know what else to tell you but...

Nigga...you a grown ass man. YOU gotta wanna learn this stuff on your own. Yeah receiving guidance is nice, but we in 2020, and in regards to Cole, the nigga is in his mid 30s. You still ain't do your readings? You don't know how to do your Googles? But you got time to go at a black woman in her 20s who has BEEN providing resources and tools in which to learn about yourself, your politics, your history in an easy, friendly, and inclusive manner for like 2-3 years now?

I feel like that's the real point that Cole stans are missing when they say dismissive and obtuse s*** like this.
