But it's pretty obivious who the tweet was about just like you're assuming the song is about noname when he said no names and can be applied to a good chunk of Twitter users
And like I said earlier he wants her educate him on why his actions werent enough and what he could do. Noname twitter has information educating people on certain topics but that's not what it about she called him out specifically not doing anything so why not specifically educate him on what he should or what she wants to do
And u can't condemn cole for making a song and not talking to her and noname did just that but with a twitter rant like it hypocritical. You gotta fault them both
Nah i don’t. Cole is lame for making a song about it and specifically trying to tone police her and act so defensive about a general tweet. full stop. You’re also wrong because noname does have tweets regarding what these artist she’s referring to can do to help. Specifically! Cole scrolled right past them. Again, I just hope this ends in a conversation and if Cole is put onto to what Noname is reading and advocating for, this could be a seriously amazing thing.
she criticized him, he responds and now he’s the bad guy
She criticized everyone in a general tweet. He trying to make a hit song
Noname whack asf for this. Who the f*** cares about a tweet? B**** what the f*** is that gonna do.
"Hey you guys, J Cole here. First of all R.I.P George Floyd and um, there's some serious s*** going on and ya'll should get out there in your neighborhoods and do somethin"
LIKE B**** EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOW WHAT THE F*** GOIN ON. IF THEY WERE GONNA DO SOMETHING THEY WOULD'VE ALREADY. They're outside in real life getting busy and she mad about a tweet. This is deadass "But did he tweet tho??" I like Noname but she big stupid for this.
"Fuck is the point of you preaching your message to those that already believe what you believe?
I'm on some "Fuck a retweet," most people is sheep"
just blows my mind ppl are fuming about 3-4 bars out of the song and not about the reason why he made the song in the 1st place
Tbh he deserves to cook. This song was unnecessary but what she did was completely meaningless.
He took Young Thug on tour wit him and publicly declared Lil Baby as one of his favorite upcomers.
He was a salty oldhead wit that Uzi/Yachty diss track but it seemed like he realized the backlash of that and opened up more after that and I can respect someone being a man like that instead of being a bitter old b****.
Not to mention that Pump one on one. Pump a straight moron but that was super cool of Cole to reach out, even if it might have came off as kinda corny.
people still reaching their asses off saying cole hates black women. like huh? i think this quarantine has people grabbing onto whatever they see amd running with it. im puzzled and confused
She criticized everyone in a general tweet. He trying to make a hit song
trying to profit off a woman’s frustrations
sick
naked and afraid
She criticized everyone in a general tweet. He trying to make a hit song
A hit song, he just released a song randomly with no promo my guy
She criticized everyone in a general tweet. He trying to make a hit song
3-4 lines? more like 90% of the song lol
my point still stands, that even if it was “distasteful” to some ppl or “tone deaf”, he had every right to respond to what she said
where was all this energy towards her when she tweeted that BS to begin with
She criticized everyone in a general tweet. He trying to make a hit song
1. It was specifically aimed at Cole and Kendrick. Stop trying to change the narrative by making it seem like it was a “general” tweet. It was a sub.
2. This obviously isn’t Cole trying to get a hit. He dropped it out of nowhere and this song has zero structure. S*** doesn’t even have drums on it.
Clearly, you don’t like Cole and I don’t like Noname. This will get nowhere.
A hit song, he just released a song randomly with no promo my guy
just like his last top ten hit middle child
A hit song, he just released a song randomly with no promo my guy
And zero drums
He dropped the s*** on all platforms lol. He could have just uploaded it to soundcloud for no payment.
imagine saying cole is chasing hits when his last albums has been dropped promo less
He dropped the s*** on all platforms lol. He could have just uploaded it to soundcloud for no payment.
think it's about spreading a message
I mean... she made a general ass tweet. She did not say j cole. It would be one thing if she did. But she didn’t. And again, if he is on her twitter, he is literally scrolling right past all the s*** that is her educating people and boosting theory.
Cole did not have to make this corny song about it making this grand response to something he could’ve just talked to her about. It’s a sour taste that he decided to go this route about it but I can only hope it end in Cole actually talking to her and being put onto these books and voices cus amazing things could be done with his voice and platform. Education and learning is only a positive for everyone involved
bro!!!!!
that is my biggest point. imo she was definitely dog whistling to j cole and kendrick because they’re the recluse conscious rappers and they hadn’t shown their faces or posted yet.
imo it was corny to do that because you don’t know how they may have been donating bts and they were seen at protests right after that. the most important thing rn is that we hear from the streets and the activists, not celebrities who are detached and could easily harm everything we’re working for by endorsing a policy that will sweep police killings under the rug under the guise of “reform” or push respectability politics that would be used by the right to justify our unjust death.
BUT
noname was still tweeting information and retweeting people. the info was right there. and she wasn’t condescending to niggas for not knowing, she was saying that rappers that have profited off of a “for the people” narrative should use their platform to boost the message of the people.
so if we’re being completely honest, he used those tweets to make somewhat of a tone deaf and selfish song about how he feels and that people shouldn’t be condescending, which i feel like is not happening that much. it feels like a weird waste of time to chastise black women (who are UNDOUBTEDLY fighting the hardest in this cause) to be “nice” while asking for us to be regarded as humans and to be teacher to everyone who comes around, whether they truly want to learn or not.
people are naturally assuming their role. teachers will teach. if you really care about the movement you will search for the information and find a way to help anyways. the more i think about this song the more pointless it feels to release as a single in a moment like this. do something to actually help instead of slapping the people who actually doing the work on the wrist lmao.
