To be fair, he does sound like he remembered how to rap again. Which is nice. I just don't think a rap album is the best use of what he can do for music right now

Sort of depends on why this snippet is coming out.

If it's intentional and supposed to be building album hype, it feels like the album will be mostly rap and he'll be trying to show us that he can still flow and giving us Saint Pablo lite verses about all of the recent controversies.

I don't think that's the best product he can put out right now, but based on this, the quote about Saint Pablo that came out a while ago, censori overload etc. it feels pretty likely

If he drops a rap album with the high standard of Kanye production, better bars, vocal performance and flow than his last couple albums then that’s a win imo

Not a fan of the trap sound he continues to use but hey atleast it sounds finished

Don't get me wrong, I think he can drop a good album with that approach. I wasn't a huge fan of Donda but I still thought it was pretty good, and a handful of the songs are some of my favorite in his discography.

But I think that he's still capable of dropping a genuine classic, and he's missing out on that opportunity if he goes in this direction

I'm just saying that he can rap normally again and that's great, but it's not going to be that generational dropout era flow where that alone almost justifies the music. It's going to be passable for a superstar rapper, and that's about it

What he was doing with the Blake sessions was leaning into a more melodic sound, which he can still do at a very high level when he tries.

But I probably shouldn't read too much into one snippet, so I guess we'll see where this goes.
