Definitely. Perception vs reality though. Calling Obama black stems from the “1 drop rule”. It reinforces the idea that “white” is pure. Any dilution of “whiteness” makes you an other. Those of us who continue to label these biracial people as “black” without a second thought are just holding up a piece of white supremacy. It’s very insidious.
Perception, Obama looks like a light skin nigga. A white man not gonna really know if he’s biracial or just lightskin, so I get it from that stand point of a biracial saying they’re black. Because often times unless they’re able to white pass, they get lumped in with the rest of us.

I always felt like mainly someone being black comes down to if they are visibly black (because skin color is… the color of your skin), but I know that’s debatable in plenty of instances so idk. Logic for example would almost never be identified as a black man in any instance of someone’s first perception of him, unlike a Drake or J Cole.
