i love that album bc I was on my way home from my moms cancer sugery from sac on a bus, and I figured the Cole album would put me to sleep bc the memes
even tho DAMN. kept me and my mom confident during her recovery bc she's a west coast rap head, I sat and listened to what Cole was saying and idk
that last song really hit me bc even tho im not in the streets, i got friends with kids who are and idk
"he wasn't real nigga for the street s***, he was a real nigga bc he loved you" hit me hard
So many themes on that one project that are all tied perfectly
I got friends that are small time dealers and Neighbors is their theme song

yall acting like yall care about kendrick cheating is some absurd fake outrage
Why would niggas care about another grown man cheating? Tf
Push lowkey caught a stray
Kendrick said you’re better off beefing with that nigga than coming at me
You do realize you help perpetuate the stereotype when you act all high and mighty, right? Niggas got the message but that all comes secondary to the quality, was the actual music good?
Nah and definitely not by Kendrick's own standards. If you explain every different opinion away as "he must not have understood (thing you like)" you won't get far in life
would you mind posting an example of someone who does
Pusha is the best example of a modern day classic battle. I posted a little prior that we’ve heard what an actual Drake murder sounds like so anything less is kinda meh
Lowkey fans of both are winning. Drake came out of hiatus and Dot finally putting in effort again. Feels like we were in 2014 but now we're going into 2015 and they're at their peaks. I hope Dot don't hide when the nuke drops, he need to keep this energy up
Drake needs to trim his projects down. 22-25 tracks is unnecessary at the rate he drops music

They love all the songs about womanizing but a nigga admitting to f***in up once is a capital crime.

I hope not cus he ain’t proven that to be true…
as a Kendrick diss, Push Ups wasn't all that
but the fact he came at all the niggas going at him at once, actually solid record

The worst thing about Adidon is that it gave people the impression that a great diss track needs to have some earth shattering tv show-esque revelation about the opp
a song can just be good and a rapper can just be a hater

The actual music being good is subjective

They need staff that actually went to school for writing & journalism, not a failed business major that writes like he just took his first creative writing class
Their problem (which is really microcosm of a bigger crisis at Pitchfork) is that they're trying to weave coverage of a rap beef into a music publication that supposedly covers everything. Pitchfork got its start reviewing indie, artsy stuff that the mainstream publications wouldn't "get" and cultivated the Radioheady, Strokesy, Interpoly reader base they became known for. But then they got bought by Condé Nast, went full, unironic poptimism like giving Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo best new music (nothing against them, but P4K used to proudly rock its pretentious reputation, that was the point). So the question becomes, who is Pitchfork even for? The lowest common denominator? So you get this ugly, cynical hodgepodge that gives the new industry plant of the weak a solid 7.8 when their label pays for it but we’re also supposed to get rap beef coverage from. F*** Pitchfork.

Thank god I don’t have twitter so I can come to my own conclusions
