The obvious route for Drake is the Elvis route, but time will tell.
“I’d die for this s*** like Elvis!”
this lowkey a crazy look for drake. Makes kendrick look like a hometown hero in his rivals city
Oh yeah!? Well Drake boosted the sales of men's size 7 sneakers!
im in houston rn aint nobody like this nigga out here
Ain’t going to lie. The s*** done grew on me. I want the Boy to win since he’s my GOAT, but there’s a certain excitement only Kendrick can bring to the rap game. He got niggas being competitive again. This s*** far from over though. Can’t wait to hear a diss track fully dedicated to Kendrick
ah yes, the album with Started From The Bottom (
) and The Language aged better than DAMN
let’s put the Drake koolaid down for a bit, you were doing good before
Humble sounds just as old as Started from the Bottom but came 4 years later
GOD also worse than The Language, which I actually like more now than I did then
Whatever joint Loyalty goes up against, it’s gonna lose
It's just so wildly inaccurate when this also exists lmao

Kendrick rapping at the level he is at on this song is probably a greater diss than anything else on this song and as much as I love Drake he simply can’t rap like he does and K’s style is obviously working for a lot of people
he needs to switch up for the next one idk if the typical Drake rapping will be enough to win people over even if there’s some crazy bars
even All Me sounds extremely dated with those cheesy ass synth plucks and generic trap drums
“it aged better” is a lazy ass argument to make anyways
That’s a bonus track
Overall the production on there sounds great today
It’s not really even just about aging as much as drake being better at pop rap
Imo Drake messing up not releasing anything, especially since he’s acting like he already has something.
If I was Drake I would give Euphoria no time to grow at all by releasing my s*** max 1 day after it came out
That’s a bonus track

that’s subjective man, age arguments don’t move me
an album isn’t supposed to somehow anticipate the way future music is going to sound and remain timeless, music is a constantly shifting and evolving thing
that’s like trying to take away from Tha Carter III because it’s production is very explicitly late 2000s, just say you enjoy it more after not listening to it after awhile, it’s functionally the same
Worst Behavior, The Language, Started From The Bottom, From Time and even 305 is extremely obvious as to what time period it came from

Definitely can't give it time if Kendrick was hinting at a quick follow up to Euphoria with the line:
"Back To Back," I like that record
I'ma get back to that, for the record
that isn’t even to say DAMN doesn’t have bad production on it (HUMBLE and GOD are definitely the worst offenders on there) but you’re not gonna make that critique in defense of an album with Started From The Bottom on it

the real s*** is if drake had writers for that 👀👀

Disagree on Worst Behavior
That’s the sort of record Kendrick and Keem are STILL trying to make, that song was actually way ahead of its time
I don’t think age arguments are as worthless as you’re making it out. It matters how something sounds as time passes and the very best albums are ones that age gracefully in some way
Lowkey I do take away from Carter 3 a little bit for the pop stuff not holding up, it’s part of why Tha Carter II is better, it’s more timeless and plays better today
And as much as you might pick a couple sounds out on NWTS, almost the entirety of GKMC production is so cheesy with all the snares and snare rolls being trash. Takes me out of that album more than anything on NWTS
From Time still better than loyalty. And if we talking about snaps and snares then we gotta switch the convo to GKMC. The snares and snare rolls on BDKMV are terrorism and it’s a problem through the album how corny the snares are
NWTS is definitely a product of its time, but that isn't always a bad thing. It's a lotta albums that sound old or have had their production not "age well" with the advancement in DAW tech/capabilities and general production techniques.
All that being said I still like NWTS much more than DAMN overall, however NWTS doesn't have songs on there that hit harder than Feel, Yah, or Fear to me
