This might be too 5 Cole verse ever. S*** would get spooky if he had to lock in on someone.
True
Cole been baiting the game for a hot minute now
It’s nuanced but I see hella influence on the way you dress
The way you sound the way you try to move
Stay up on the latest flows and latest tones from generation x
Y’all came up with the Gibbs thing but this sounds way more like Kendrick to me, doing the Uzi cosplay in that Hillbillies video and going really hard in the youth direction. Then ending that with “the way you step” nah man it’s lining up
and y’all saying it’s a reference to a 2012 alchemist evidence album to get at Gibbs? How does that even really get at Gibbs, it’s so obscure, I ain’t buying that
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s aimed at Kendrick
Kendrick seems like he distanced himself completely from the industry outside of Dave Free & Keem
damn thats a great line
How does Gibbs connect to the Step Brothers project from 2012 by Alchemist and Evidence? Gibbs isn’t even featured on that project, I’m honestly leaning towards the evidence wordplay being a coincidence, the project doesn’t have much notoriety and why would Cole’s mind ever go there to diss Gibbs? It makes no sense and would seem like he’s dissing Al and Evidence, I don’t get it. Feels like y’all just playing degrees of separation
and the lines that precede it about someone trying to copy young people dressing and flows doesn’t sound like Gibbs to me
Step Brothers wasn’t even that big of a project, like you have to be really up on alchemist to know that project. And again Gibbs isn’t on it or had anything to do with it so how does that make sense as a Freddie diss, just cause Freddie has worked with alchemist?
His verse is fire. After all the projects, it’s good to see he’s still putting out high quality music effortlessly.
Cole was aight.
Cole taking shots at people being fake woke and progressive, and profiting off of movements, he is obviously talking about BLM.
"Niggas fake progressive and woke, I started sayin' less
I had to stop it, peeped how they profit off of racial stress
Some activists got so rich they prolly wish we stay oppressed"
A Cole and Kendrick beef would be super exciting, of course on some friendly hip-hop competition. Imagine Kendrick fires back at Cole, then Cole proceeds to drop “It’s A Boy” turning out to be him firing at the entire industry on some Makaveli s***

yall want kendrick to beef so bad these the last 2 niggas who would ever beef with each other
kendrick locked in on drake

A beef between either of them would devolve into a WW3 situation between all the emcees bruh. Lots of beefs, diss tracks, and Twitter shots is crazy, Cole would be my top 5 rapper if that ever goes down and eats up the competition

I won’t doubt you, Cole knows how to sneak attack other rappers and create this moment of tension, yet confusion amongst others that’d radiate into madness.
Think about it, a power move that’d expose which rapper is the most sensitive to criticisms and disses, then Cole would plan his “attack”. And it’s funny, he’s not even going to directly address that artist, it’ll only make them an ass in front of others.

Isn't that what Cole did around 4YEO? Why would he diss him for that lol. Kendrick was actually the one who inspired him to be active again with DAMN.
They have way too much respect for each other for there to be a diss
Kendrick fans never think any bars are about him because they know all Kendrick ever does is duck the smoke

I imagine Cole just getting some bars off and not going after anyone in particular aside from the BLM s***
"Studio steppers movin' extra on songs, fakin' rep
Only breakin' bad in the lab, thought y'all was makin' meth
Niggas makin' threats and I laugh, that's 'cause you ain't a threat
Don't ask how I feel 'bout no rappers, s***, they okay, I guess
Incomin' call, press the button, the one that say accept
He FaceTime to ask for a feature and saw the face of death
I'm on your song, your streams goin' up, not quite the Drake effect
But don't complain, b****, take what you get and cut the label check"
All this sounds like yb shots to me, he asked both cole and drake for features and was complaining when he ain't get them and threatened both of them on record
