Yeah I saw the trailer. I’m a big fan of Joe List who’s staring in it. He’s been so excited about it on his podcast. This should be good. Love Louie’s work too obviously. Not going to check this thread often though because of dummies debating what Louie did.

There was no one else in the theater when I saw this and the theater I went to said less than 50 ppl showed up in the week it was out.

Could’ve been a lot better. It’s crazy how episodes of Louie were perfect standalone short films but his feature films have been 0/3 so far (though Pootie Tang was edited without his consent).

It felt like an A24 film for Gen X’ers with Hallmark Channel sensibilities. Just because you curse and say edgy jokes doesn’t mean you have a good script.

Joe List is not a good actor

He also never called his critics woke. He apologized immediately and stopped doing anything for like 5 years. His comedy on his new special is identical to the stuff on his previous ones. The reviewer did like no research.

Site should’ve shut down after Ebert died

I like him a lot. I’m willing to root for him to get better.

To be fair to Louie he had to fund this with his own money and he wrote it and shot it in less than a year. He also had very little resources or a good pool of talent. This is basically like him going back to student film territory and just making something with friends for fun.

It was still very enjoyable
