    • One officer shared pictures of tiny coffins intended to house the bodies of Black children they would “put down.”

    • The officers’ racist exchanges ranged from vague offensive memes and cartoons about Black and Latino men to comments about specific people they had interacted with. Black suspects were repeatedly referred to with racial slurs

    • Lawsuits filed against officers involved have already cost Torrance more than $10 million. Still, most of the officers implicated remain employed by the city

And mfs would still say systemic racism doesn't exist. Look how hard the system is protecting these obviously racist cops. Mfs would rather pay tens of millions in lawsuits than fire these klan members

police are not meant to protect communities and all people equally

the point has always been to oppress the poor and nonwhite. It's an entire conversation in itself, but where cops came from, who they serve, who funds them, and how much power they hold has always been a combination of conditions that pretty much point towards such a conclusion

That's maybe true for a America centric approach but it's not true everywhere else.

would not change a thing as long as the economic conditions that motivate crime continue to exist

social and political trends will follow economic ones even if influence in the opposite direction is possible

this is true for most places where there is an entrenched economic elite that has power over the government. the UK, France, the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Germany, you name it

the US just has a uniquely intense racial factor to it because of the history of the nation
