Dont get too hype. This probably Will never drop.
Wrong
We got Instagram posts & ppl in the camp saying it’s coming. Don’t lose hope
@19:00 . D.O.C. was interviewed just last month August 29th:
I plan on going to LA for a week next month, to help snoop & Dre finish the Missionary album. We all haven’t worked together in a long time, but we are all in a creative space now where we wanna do something great. So, it should be a cool week. We should come up with 2-3 really great records since we are all in a creative space
It sounds like the “grown up” version of Death Row. It sounds like what Snoop’s next record would’ve been like on Death Row
Last month on Snoop IG:
From August 28th 2023:
While the duo have otherwise been relatively silent on what the album could entail, Grammy Award-winning producer Smitty, who has collaborated with both artists, previously spoke a bit more on the overall vibe of the new tape
It’s gonna be great music,” Smitty said in an interview with AllHipHop. “That’s not even the given. What people won’t expect is the level of execution that Snoop is committed to. Snoop’s in his bag.
“I was in Hawaii working with other projects last week. He called me — I’m three hours behind, it has to be eight in the morning — he’s like, ‘Man, this is Snoop. Little bro, I ain’t seen Dre this excited since The Chronic. He’s really excited about what we’re doing.

It's actually worse than it being shelved

How so? Just for clarity, I am thinking about Earl & Alchemist album. Are you hoping it’s not that situation, or something else?
Cause in my mind, I can wait a month after it drops on some exclusive NFT thing to finally hear it. Or is that not what ya mean, sir?
@Southpaw very hard avy & username btw
Please don't be an overproduced mess
Quite a few ppl have lost faith in Dre’s production on here & that makes me sad man i really think he is going to deliver on this Missionary album, like no doubt in my mind

People still don't get it when its so obvious
If it isn't incredible, and if it isn't the right time, it won't see the light of day.
That's Dre's philosophy
We only got Compton because of the movie, we get kendrick because was on the come up and made a classic almost on his own.
We got 50 cent because he was already the most notorious rapper of New York bubbling and had Eminem as support.
The only time we get risks is when dre gets desperate. Hence risking aftermath on em. After the flop of the aftermath album
We never got the majority of the aftermath folks to drop and honestly I do believe it's because they didn't have the buzz or the quality of album
I will say that Anderson paak confuses me though, because I think they f***ed it making a double album. If they had pooled the best tracks out of both, could have been a classic. Who knows who's fault that was. But they obviously have faith in him
Good news is that we have a magical combo of dre apparently being inspired, and the timing being right as the 30th anniversary of doggystyle...
My bet, they were checking out the Las Vegas dome thing last week to scope out a venue to host a massive concert in celebration, air it on tv and all, and drop the album that night or something

Thank you for typing this & the insight, much appreciated. Agreed on the perfectionism part. And that’s re assuring that they’re looking into the Vegas sphere I had no idea about that, very interesting
Googling "snoop dogg" "missionary" brings up the release date now too... this is all new this week, possibly even today... I was only checking out of curiosity

Thats such a funny thing to google bruh
I'm going to obviously coat this all in a layer of salt because f*** knows what dre wants or is doing these days...
But they did say it would come out for the 30th anniversary of doggystyle...
I feel like snoops smoke post is a way of getting his name out before the drop...
Would make sense, album obviously finished, it was played for Jimmy Iovine in September
