ive been tryna articulate this for a while but i think the error is that mans dont understand hip hop is so big now that it doesnt per se need a representative for the genre but rather a collection of leaders for their individual sections

so for something like this u shouldnt be picking just commercially sucessful people u pick the people that put on for a section. i think this idea that one set of artists can represent a genre is either outdated or i just wasnt aware how it didnt work before.

and, on this list for example, its pretty clear leader just means most popular or something.
