That time around 2015-2019 was definitely the most liberated the industry has ever been. Once Soundcloud lost steam and the industry f***ed up DSPs it’s been terrible.

The playlists aren't the main reason, new music is mostly just boring and TikTok is pushing old songs heavily

Algorithm based playlists on Spotify always been ass to me, I just put my liked songs on shuffle and keep it moving most of the time.
