How much income do you need to live comfortably in manhattan

With one roommate you'd be looking at 1800-2400 a month rent most likely. With multiple roommates maybe 1300-1600.
If you want to live by yourself it's gonna be 2400-3500 for a decent 1 bedroom in the thick of things that isn't s***ty. Unless you want to go all the way to upper manhattan where you can find places for 1800-2200 no problem.

Living comfortably depends on each person tho so I'm not sure about an exact salary. You really don't have to live in manhattan tho.

i'd say you want to start out with like 4k a month to get by and up from there for disposable income
