Gotta long post, but f*** it it's the offseason and there ain't s*** else to talk about. I certainly don't wanna talk about those rumors of Kelly Oubre to the Knicks...smh. Anyway, I'm still cool with us sticking with Lonzo in the off season, but how is this for another option as our point guard. Collin Sexton?

Apparently it's some beef going on between Sexton and his agent and the Cavs front office and coaching staff. There have been reports of anonymous coach/coaches from the Cavs organization talking about how Collin Sexton is a selfish player and doesn't pass the ball, which is why they switched him to SG from PG. Personally I never understood this critique because Collin Sexton has been passing more this season than his first two seasons. From last season he had 465 points off assists. This season he has had 623 points off assists. His assists have also gone up from 3.0 to 4.4 per game. Nothing too glamorous for a PG I'll admit, but to say that he doesn't pass the ball factually/statistically makes no sense. We also gotta see who he been playing with. The Cavs been having him play with either bums or rookies and sophomores. He's been passing more as a SG than a PG and the team still been ass.

I say all this to say, I think we have an opportunity to get Sexton from the Cavs for a steal. Cavs are definitely gonna be on that lottery carousel for the next couple years and after those next couple years, Sexton is definitely out of there. I say we can possibly strike while the iron is hot, get Sexton for Knox and Frank and a couple of our late first round picks. Depending where Cleveland lands in the lottery this year those picks can be used for them to move up in the draft and get a solid player. Maybe even some good accompanying pieces if they happen to land Suggs, Cunningham, etc via landing in the top 3 from the lottery.

A starting line up of Sexton, IQ, RJ, Randle, and Mitch is a nasty line up that gives us a fast scoring backcourt, and a strong frontcourt of RJ, Randle, and Mitch. Depending on their offseason improvements we can have IQ or Sexton easily rotate between PG/SG, they'll always have somebody good to pass to get a bucket. We'll have solid spacing as Sexton is a capable shooter, can break down a defense, and has good off-ball movement. We can have RJ, Sexton, and IQ going nuts in transition since we'll have some f***in speed for once. We'll still have the option of using Randle as a point forward if Thibs decides to continue to implement that and he'll have three good options to pass around the perimeter. Gotham Lobs to Mitch from IQ, RJ, or Sexton can be a consistent thing as they're all more than capable passers (regardless of whatever tf Cleveland's coaching staff is on about Sexton). Our defense isn't taking too much of a hit if it even will since Sexton is already a competent defender. And best of all, which I feel is the real kicker here, trading for Sexton allows us to save big money this off season which we can put towards building an even stronger bench and keeping guys like Rose, Burks, Noel.

I'm not against the idea of just staying the course and going with Lonzo, or possibly even trying for Lowry, CP3, or Brogdan (though out of all those options Lonzo or Brogdan are preferred). But being able to get Sexton while he has two more years on his rookie contract not only quickly upgrades our potential starting lineup, but it also opens up our cap space to add solid depth to our roster. When it comes to competing in the playoffs it's not just your starting line-up but how deep your roster is as a whole. As we have seen very recently from the Atlanta Hawks.

I def prefer this than paying Lonzo 20 Mil, if we can get him for the low why tf not. He a player you can just add to the core, I almost never watched the Cavs this year so I really can't attest to his passing or lack thereof.

Lowkey I think the FO got Vildoza as their budget Lonzo, they're similar players and look how cheap his contract is. So far the FO has been very stringent with how much $$ they spend, I think they only will give big deals to the max level players. Hopefully Vildoza pans out.

A smart and functional front office that I can actually trust to maintain a team...it still feels so damn good man

Folk mad as hell Thibs won COY on that lil "He only got it because the Knicks are a big market! Monty was robbed!" bullshit

No disrespect at all to Monty Williams, he won the true COY award by his peers already, but that nigga had Devin Booker and f***ing Point God CP3 running his offense. We had f***ing Elfrid Payton starting for us at the point. We were literally winning in spite of that man being on our team.

Ion wanna hear f***in s*** about "Thibs didn't deserve it!"

And as soon as he left it went to s***...AGAIN.

Cavs lucky they were able to draft Kyrie a year after Bron left or it would've been one real bad brown streak for them throughout the last decade.

Collin Sexton will be a Knick very soon.

Sexton has nice numbers and all but idk if I want him running Point. Maybe if we moved RJ to the 3 and got another PG

What if Thibs actually believes in IQ running the point for us next season?

That aside though, I do also think the biggest issue with Sexton at the point for the Cavs is that the rest of the players on the Cavs sucked and the coaching staff isn't good. Put him around better players to pass to and play with on the Knicks and we can likely see his improvement at point real quick

Mitchell is the only guy I'd trade the house for, if he requests a trade (I don't think it'll be this year) you do whatever it takes.
