MangoProhibition stuck around for nearly a decade, with alcohol as a booming underground industry, until the mafia element was like front page news with personalities that persist to this day. That's what it took to repeal. Is tobacco ever going to be that? Less and less people smoke it than ever.
Probably won't reach that level, but it will absolutely lead to more criminality literally by definition

I agree it doesn’t but legalizing it isn’t a solution either.
I’m for decriminalization of possession and getting addicts into treatment over prison but I think if you get caught with intent to distribute you should go to prison

Oh trust me, I know there's a big d*** problem in NZ, partly because of their (outdated) current policy.
I'm just saying... if they wanted to, they could realistically crack down (hehe) pretty hard on d**** coming into the country. It's not like it's a massive landscape like Europe or the US.

I think the government should be looking for ways to reduce usage of s*** like cigarettes or at least find healthier alternatives
