What do you guys think he should rap/sing about on the next album? I think he should go all in on his relationship with his kid and his baby moms. At the end of March 14, he said he was “changing from boy to a man” so I have high expectations. Scorpion wasn’t really a fatherhood album because he didn’t believe the kid was his until March of last year. The next album will be fully crafted with the mindset of a father. I think his new situation will provide a lot of new avenues to explore in his music.

i highly doubt the next album will be "fully crafted with the mindset of a father", i will obv expect lot of reference sand bars relating to finding himself as a father and what that brings, i think we'll still get the drizzy everyone used to and expects, like insecurity, and love and plans, and reminiscing, thats what makes drake so relatable, he raps about emotions and the feelings events in life bring, not just the events themselves

I feel like diddy or one of the old school executive producers would guide drake to a better more well rounded concepts and album.

Preemo, just blaze, Rza , etc. would craft a better album for drake and make him dig deeper and unlock potential.

I agree OP, with Drizz knowing acknowledging the journey from boy to man at the tail of scorpion, I do expect his subject matter to slightly evolve, whether that means him delving into more socially conscious topics or him peeling more and more layers of his mind and life I'm not sure, all I know is if he can successfully evolve his content and mirror that with the structure and flow of the next project, we're in store for something special

40 had barely any production on More Life and Scorpion, imo these are his two worst albums. 40 is a hitmaker and has a super diverse high quality sound, I don't think people even realize what he's capable of because he doesn't produce for other artists.

I said he can still have production on it , just not executive producer cause that formula peeked on views.

Executive producers guide the album creation and 40 lets drake record whatever now which is why the albums sound like random songs . Especially scorpion.

More life I understand why. It makes sense and works perfectly.

But really how many of those joints does he really have? Not many. My main point is that his usual topics should be filtered though the lense of a dude with a 2 year old kid. How has that changed his worldview? Does he even get to see his kid? How does that change how he feels about his own parents? That new perspective can add some needed growth.

I personally love More Life and Scorpion so I object to the criticism of the sound of those albums. The fundamental problem is not the production or 40/Oliver influence. The only real issue is the album length and the content. I don’t care too much about how lon the last three projects have been but I recognize that people will complain. A shorter album with an updated perspective is all he needs.

Yeah for some reason his singing is getting worse. I think he is trying to do some new autotune style but it's just exposing his lack of singing talent and it doesn't sound too good.

You go back to any singing song from TC & NWTS or hell even as recently as Views and More Life it's good. More Life was just 2 years ago no way his singing got that bad in that short of a time it probably is just a new style he is doing.

I hate it...listen to Brand New and then Peak or Finesse. Depressing because those are actually really good songs but the bad nasally autotune singing ruins them.

It's really hard to guess what direction he'll go in with his next project. He clearly knows what it takes to make a ''classic'', as he stated on Sandra's Rose. But he also wants to make the music he likes imo. He likes doing pop stuff, he likes doing R&B stuff. We'll see what he chooses to do with the next one. It's gonna be fire regardless anyway
