Its so funny to me i always read into OGF slightly different to what i read most people say online (in terms of the main theme of the film)
How do u see it?

Well the thing to me that sticked out more than anything was the mother-son relationship. To me it’s a story about breaking free from the chains of a possessive person, atoning for your own sins while at the same time showing how being under a persons spell can make you act like a vessel for somebody else instead of guiding yourself throughout the s***
Im too tired to explain it in a better way rn and this is not somehing new, just saying that i feel like this is what NWR main focus was for the narrative and main character and even though it may seem pretty obvious, it sometimes seems to me that people still downplay that part of the film
Dude Lt. Chang pulls a sword seemingly out of nowhere (no sheath or nothing), chops boys hands off and ... randomly sings karaoke
Not only that but the movie can be read as Chang being a reincarnation of One-Eye from Valhalla Rising

Oh, for sure, he’s chained to his mother’s womb. That conflict is definitely the heart of the film. In addition to him feeling guilt over killing his father. That’s why he’s so sexually f***ed up with Mai. The dinner scene, leading to “TAKE IT OFF” is the centerpiece. Dude feels so emasculated.
A mixture of both, TOTDY's best episode to me was the p***o episode lol and I like certain aspects of the weirdness s*** but the ending didn't stick the landing.
In a way NWR kinda reminds me of Yoshiaki Kawajiri, another dude who mixed urban dystopias with mysticisim
ayo what show or movie is this
