I don't get why the Eagles would want to be like the Jets and Jaguars anyway. Teams with high draft picks tend to be trash because their culture is awful and nobody wants to play there. I know that as a Washington fan.

The Saints, Packers, Ravens, Steelers, Patriots, etc. don't give a f*** where they pick because it makes no difference. They have a good system in place and make the most of their draft picks. If the Eagles have bad coaching, getting a slightly higher pick isn't going to help them that much anyway. Again, I saw this for years with my team.

On the other hand, I don't want them to be punished or anything. It's their right to tank, I just think it's a waste of time and does more harm than good.

A high draft pick means your team was trash that season, which the eagles were win or lose, the entire nfc east is trash for that matter

Picking in the top 10 doesn't make a team like the jets or jags, if you frequently are picking top 10 it means the organization as a whole is ass and poorly ran. Plenty of teams have picked high and then not picked high again for years

The whole argument is that losing on purpose and f***ing players over results in the kind of losing culture that leads to picking in the top 10 all the time. Eventually, FAs stop coming cheap, you get worse coaches, etc.

I don't think tanking one game is going to turn the Eagles into the Jets, not at all, but it's not a viable long term strategy in the NFL.
