wouldn’t Jay then be the 2 podcasters as they are the subject being doubted by “they” here? or are you saying hiphop isn’t in decline

It hasn't been this good in years. Will only continue if West Coast artists + production style keep building momentum and usurp trap and its derivatives

i sincerely wish more people said this when drakeo was alive but generally i agree that regions need to lock in and build up momentum once again

We’re in an era of irony where people champion mid or just decent music and front like it’s gods gift to earth for some strange and evil reason

As long as it’s that way it’ll get spooky at least for the mainstream

Maybe a terrible take but hip hop may need to disappear from the mainstream for a bit and get a makeover. There’s no identity to mainstream hip hop. People just making songs they think will be popular. Not enough people making music they think is good. But also those same people aren’t that good so they don’t know how to make good music.

So instead of aiming to please TikTok algorithms and tryna make music frat white kids like, niggas need to go back to the drawing board and came back when they figured something out

    Yes, also this

Unfortunately I think if we go into a new dark age where hip hop isn’t as in demand or having billions of dollars pumped into it like it has for the past 10 years, we’d be better off and eventually bring that feeling back. I’m not quite sure how, but I just feel it would work that way ..

It’s just got too easy. Maybe then, kids will see that this s*** ain’t as easy to get on as it used to be, and all the niggas whose true ministry is in plumbing or real estate won’t pick up rapping. Then we’ll just be left with the artists who really live this music s***

Niggas spamming trap beats until it killed a status quo mainstream rap is amazing

  • And if it is in danger it has nothing to do with a stock/statistics ticker like in the thumbnail lol thats actually the first problem
