Go relisten almost 1 out of every 3 lines was a hard punchline and quotable
"I tell em to eat a d*** quicker than Mexicans sprint over borders"
people say pablo ain’t all that and i see the s*** they’ve lobbed in here. if people can claim gunna still makes good music remaking the same song since 2018 pablo is all timer s*** then
i didn’t wanna start mentioning projects this site gassed cause it was gonna derail the thread further but best believe if something like Her Loss can be considered a “great” project, then im not sure what the hold up on TLOP is
:jordanlaff3: What's some of the best bars on B******?
Im so dapper man, funky fresh Dapper Dan
Anyway, s***posting aside, all love, like what you like, enjoy the music that speaks to you the most
Thats really not the solution
I honestly feel like the best songs on the album were songs like Judge Judy Like Him St Chroma not bc they were perfect like Take Your Mask Off is a way better song objectively than those but they were interesting and felt inspired. I honestly like tylers imperfect music where it feels like hes just letting his musical genius out vs him making an objectively good rap song
I liked it on CMIYGL but by the time we got to the deluxe it was still good but doesnt hit the same way my fav tyler s*** does. Idk how to explain it really but i think he needed to make a perfectly accessible album to take advantage of this moment but I really hope he really just leans into production on the next album, Tyler still has a lot to say but its through sound rather than words imo
to me his 'imperfect' sound would be 'sticky' which i f***ed with, whereas the songs you mentioned sound like him obsessed and tinkering to the last minute for no gain
i think i'm the opposite in that he has a lot to say on this record but it's stifled by his relatively comfortable production that shows no forward path
I love Kanye bro hes like the closest thing to Michael Jackson imo
But I really grew up on Ye, it used to feel like he was representing for kids like me. If u dont have that feeling of growing up really feeling like he was making it possible for you, then i completely understand why niggas love his newer work more. But for me it just doesnt feel the same idk how to describe it
I still love Ye tho and wish him the best life possible
Tyler’s pure rapping also peaked on B****** so idk what this accomplishes
also i agree with this
Thats how I feel about TLOP tho
Like lets be honest during that era I started to feel lime Ye was acting like a sell out, the fashion the events the tour the songs all of it was truly amazing and changed the way the world looked with one album but imo nothing is more important than the people who made Ye
When white america villainized Ye we supported him all the way, I legit got in ISS for yelling at my white teacher about Ye in 7th grade. That era was dope but everything around it felt like he was done with us and didnt need us no more
TLOP is for sure a classic bc like i said the world looked different people talked different they dressed different but I always will have some mixed feelings about that album
i feel like theres a lot of similarities between the albums due to the fact they kinda divided their fan bases its like for me ye started making s***tier music after this but doing waaaaaay more s*** i thought was cool like bruh really ran up a couple billi
my capitalistic mind couldnt help but go insane
Wolf is the one Tyler album I never spent much time with so Idk either
go listen to cowboy right now his last verse on there is so f***ing insane
Wolf is the one Tyler album I never spent much time with so Idk either
Check out that Rust song. It's dope
id say wolf but idk
His lyricism on wolf was not good, the music and the hooks was great. Wolf was like the first time he came with hella great hooks
Wolf and cb he was writing some careless ass verses honestly those albums is really where the narrative that T is a bad lyricist came from bc in 2011 niggas used to be like “he weird but he got bars”
B******, Flower Boy, and Chromakopia were the albums where I feel like he actually was getting off verse for verse
Call Me too but like that was all it was it felt very purposeful on there vs him being in a good mode on those other albums
"I tell em to eat a d*** quicker than Mexicans sprint over borders"
it's not even that he was just uniquely confident and charged
i'm sorry some may disagree but when you start falling down the grandiose production rabbit hole your raps suffer
wages fml and wolves rapping trash whilst you’re a kkkeltics fan
the nba team I root for doesn't affect the quality of TLOP. 6/10
"I tell em to eat a d*** quicker than Mexicans sprint over borders"
Bro he was going f***ing crazy on seven
Still immaculate rapping til this day
B******-Radical tyler was a great run for tyler lyrically. I feel like OF really was inspiring him to put in work with that pen those days
Good album but not better than CMIYGL or IGOR
Imo chromakopia is way better than cmiygl
Im kinda confused on what makes cmiygl better can u give me some perspective on that, i love that album but it feels so hollow compared to chromakopia
it's not even that he was just uniquely confident and charged
i'm sorry some may disagree but when you start falling down the grandiose production rabbit hole your raps suffer
100%
But its only because the beats dont leave a lot of room for rapping.
There are some exceptions to this though like MBDTF and TPAB

aye man that nigga was barring tf up!!!!!!
wolf was the peak of his rapping because it was the perfect balance of story telling and edgy bars with a splash of introspection. cowboy is just probably my favorite example of this the last verse is simply pefect not a bar wasted
